Having read through many of the urban fantasy books, I'm always on the lookout for a hot new books to add to my "must read" lists. I read the first 3 books (Wicked Lovely, Ink Exchange, Fragile Eternity) back to back. Like a lot of books, this one does have it's faults (a few dry patches, confusion at times), but unlike most books these are minor in comparison to the well developed plot and fleshed out characters. I couldn't stop thinking about the characters. Looking forward to the release of the next book in the series, Radiant Shadows. It will be out April 20, 2010!
Description from Wicked Lovely, #1:
Rule #3: Don't stare at invisible faeries.
Aislinn has always seen faeries. Powerful and dangerous, they walk hidden in the mortal world. Aislinn fears their cruelty-especially if they learn of her Sight-and wishes she were as blind to their presence as other teens.
Rule #2: Don't speak to invisible faeries.
Now faeries are stalking her. One of them, Keenan, who is equal parts terrifying and alluring, is trying to talk to her, asking questions Aislinn is afraid to answer.
Rule #1: Don't ever attract their attention.
But it's too late. Keenan is the Summer King, who has sought his queen for nine centuries. Without her, summer itself will perish. His is determined that Aislinn will become the Summer Queen at any cost-regardless of her plans or desires.
Suddenly none of the rules that have kept Aislinn safe are working anymore, and everything is on the line: her freedom; her best friend, Seth; everything.
Faery intrigue, mortal love, and the clash of ancient rules and modern expectations swirl together in Melissa Marr's stunning twenty-first-century faery tale.

Hunger Games Series
Life in District 12 isn't easy for Katniss and her family. Ever since her father died the girl has spent her time saving her mother and little sister Prim from starvation by hunting on forbidden land. But worst of all is reaping day. Once a year the government chooses two children from each of the twelve districts to compete against one another in a live and televised reality show. Twenty-four kids and teens enter, and only one survives. When Prim's name is called, Katniss exchanges herself without hesitation to compete alongside the baker's boy Peeta. To survive in this game you need to win the heart of your audience, and so District 12's trainers come up with a plan. Why not make it as if Peeta and Katniss were in love with one another? But in a game where only one person can live, Katniss will have to use all her brains, wits, and instincts to determine who to trust and how to outwit the game's creators.
The Hunger Games takes place in an undetermined future. The book has suspense, romance, and so much adventure that this has easily become one of my favorite books. As soon as I had finished it I immediately wanted to read it again and have all my friends read it so we could talk about it. I strongly recommend it to absolutely everyone and cannot wait for the sequel, Catching Fire.

***UPDATE***
WOW! Just finished Catching Fire. Awesome…but makes me crazy impatientLoved Catching Fire. But I am absolutely dying to find out what happens next. Suzanne Collins totally did it again, left me totally hanging on the edge of my seat. Hopefully, somebody will know when the next book comes out...If i just had a date, I can move on a bit and stop thinking about what's going to happen next. Hopefully it wont be another year!

Mortal Instruments Series (City of Bones, City of Ashes, City of Glass) by Cassandra Clare
I loved the Mortal Instrument series (City of Bones, City of Ashes, City of Glass) by Cassandra Clare. The books are hip, funny, romantic and fast-paced. I fell in love with the characters.
Premise of the story…when Clary Fray witnesses three tattoo-covered teenagers murder another teen, she is unable to prove the crime because the victim disappears right in front of her eyes, and no one else can see the killers. She learns that the teens are Shadowhunters (humans who hunt and kill demons…they also happen to be sexy and intriguing), and Clary, a mundie (i.e., mundane human), should not be able to see them either. Clary along with her adorably nerdy best friend simon, goes through an action packed ride filled with romantic tension between Shadowhunters, vampires, fairies, werewolves, warlocks and humans.
The mortal Instruments series is a must-read for anybody who loves action, adventure, sarcastic humor and romance all rolled into one.
I am looking forward to the release of the Prequel Series (The Infernal Devices). And hopefully the author will release a book based on the character Simon.

The Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer
What can I say that hasnt already been said about the Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer. The Saga includes 4 books; Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn.
The Twilight books are a Must Read! I hadn't read for years. On someone's recommendation I picked up the book over the holiday break. To my surprise I could not put the book down. Lucky for me I had just received a Kindle (see Amazon for more information on Kindle). I could automatically download electronic books onto my Kindle and didnt have to wait until the next day to get to the book store. I read all 4 books in 1 week.
Twilight grabs you from the start and leads you on a wild romantic ride into another world, where folklore beings become present day realities and one lucky human girl gets to become apart of a modern day Romeo and Juliet, with a twist.
This book kicked off my reading addiction. Which prompted me to search for what other books I had been missing out on. I have searched high and low for books that will give me that same thrill as when I read this series. Now that the second movie is coming out...I plan on going back and re-reading Twilight and New Moon.
If your looking for a means of escape from the everyday bump and grind, you must slip into this fantasy world, it will captivate you, hold you prisoner long after you have completed the Saga.
Thank you Stephenie Meyer!!
Check out the booklist I plan on covering in this blog. Looking forward to your comments and suggestions!
